The first One Day Soone profile is Jo, one of One Day Soone’s first customers and a fellow Kiwi that I met 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jo absolutely loves animals and is actively pursuing her ‘One Day Soone’ dream of helping stray, injured and homeless animals.
She now lives in Singapore with her husband, gorgeous dog Buffy (the dog not the vampire slayer), cat Viva and an array of fostered animals.
Here we hear about Jo’s pursuit of her dream and see her wearing her favourite One Day Soone pendant…..

What is your ‘One Day Soone’ dream?
My ‘One Day Soone’ dream is to help as many stray/street/shelter animals as possible.
Living in NZ I loved my pets and donated to the SPCA every now and then but my actions never went further than that and the reality of abandoned, abused animals was mostly hidden away.
After living in Thailand and being exposed to the reality of street animals my connection with animals has intensified.

What steps have you and are you taking to achieve your ‘One Day Soone’ dream?
In 2010 I moved from New Zealand to Thailand and then to Singapore in 2011. Since relocating I have had a change in focus in my life from working full time as a graphic designer to freelancing so I’m able to have the extra time to study veterinary theory, foster animals and volunteer at shelters. I also use my professional skills of writing, photography and design to help out rescue organizations and shelters. I’ve designed signage for shelters, had articles published about rescue animals and an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai. One of my future plans is for a book and photography exhibition about Bangkok’s amazing soi dogs.

Who is your role model for your ‘One Day Soone’ dream?
That’s a hard question! Definitely all the amazing dedicated volunteers that were involved with SCAD (Soi Cats and Dogs) the charity I was involved with in Bangkok as, day after day they would give their time and energy to constantly help animals in need without a second thought.
Also Cesar Millan would have to be one (The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan), I’ve only just discovered him, but how he built up his empire from nothing and does so much for rescue/shelter animals that we never see on the TV is inspiring.

What is your favourite One Day Soone design?
My domed oval pendant from the Hopes & Dreams collection. It looks great and dresses up any outfit. I love wearing it when I’m out and about!
